Wisconsin USA: Solar power pole manufacturers, PowerStack, have inked a referral agreement with environmental and commercial energy management consultants Eco Group. Based out of Wisconsin, Eco Group are experts in solar energy deployment and energy efficiency planning for businesses. The agreement will see them recommend PowerStack’s vertical solar poles for integration in relevant projects.
PowerStack’s off-grid solar poles act to decentralize electrical infrastructure, enabling deployment of powered devices without any reliance on an external power source. Not only is this beneficial for the environment because it does not require fossil fuel powered electricity, but it enables device deployment in areas where power provision is too difficult or cost prohibitive.
The agreement, signed in September 2024, will see Eco Group consider the full range of PowerStack solar poles, from 3ft/1m bollards up to 60W plus poles at 25ft/8m, for viable project leads.

Successful commercial energy management requires data, analysis, technology, and implementation. This workflow identifies opportunities, unlocks efficiencies, and charts a new path for higher performance with lower cost and associated emissions.
Outdoor power is an often overlooked area of energy consumption with opportunities for improvement. PowerStack not only enables lighting and security in outdoor spaces but also facilitates deployment of the monitoring devices and sensors needed for enhanced data collection and transfer.
Typically these devices need to be installed around property perimeters or in more remote locations where getting eyes and ears on the ground would be most beneficial. But the costs of getting power to these sites often renders them non-viable.
Enter PowerStack, which eliminates the time and expense of accessing or extending traditional electrical infrastructure.
Speaking about the impact that PowerStack could have on deployment of energy management solutions, Eco Group’s president, Dean Makenson commented,
“We have a lot of experience in energy management and solar throughout multiple sectors, and our clients certainly understand the benefits of rooftop solar. But PowerStack invites businesses to expand how they think about energy savings, and to consider deploying distributed solar to improve their energy efficiency and reduce operating costs. PowerStack provides such an innovative way to use renewable energy to create those micro-grids where they’re needed. It’s not putting any additional pressure on grid power, or adding to a business’s energy bills. Instead it can run those devices and infrastructure that not only add to the useability and safety of spaces, but also provide invaluable insights into how a space could be used, protected or run more efficiently. In that way, it’s a real enabler for the kinds of solutions we recommend and we can see it being a huge benefit to businesses when deployed effectively.”
While it’s expected most businesses are happy to reduce their energy costs, it can be overwhelming to know how and where to start.
Eco Group provides expert knowledge and guidance on this as part of their services. In this new partnership with PowerStack, this expert guidance on optimizing commercial energy management is enhanced by technical and applied knowledge of how to integrate these off-grid solar power poles in more creative solutions.
Speaking about the partnership and the mission of Eco Group, PowerStack USA’s Chief Operating Officer, Jeremy Sigmon commented,

“We work with many partners with deep knowledge within their sector – usually commercial lighting and security. What Eco-Group brings to the table is a focus on the wide array of commercial clients who are already being thoughtful about energy management and tapping into abundant clean power resources. They’re already hard at work with clients identifying pain points and opportunities. PowerStack is now an important arrow in their quiver for overcoming outdoor power challenges and unlocking new ways to deploy efficient clean energy. There’s a lot of knowledge, and a fair amount of preconception, about traditional solar - PowerStack is so different from a grid-connected array. It really does enable deployment in those spots that a contractor would simply write off as inaccessible for powered infrastructure or ‘too hard or expensive’. In that way, we’re really excited to work with Eco Group to unlock the opportunities that decentralized energy supply can create.”
PowerStack is a 100% off-grid power pole that has been designed to work in most locations year round, thanks to its unique 4-sided design that maximizes sun capture. Completely brand and technology agnostic, it can be used to run a wide range of devices for everything from lighting, security and surveillance, to device charging, network provision and internet of things sensors. Using a concrete-free foundation that can be installed without the need for heavy machinery, PowerStack represents a remarkably sustainable, reliable, and attractive off-grid power source.
If you’d like to know more about the PowerStack technology or have a question about compatible devices that can be powered through the technology, both our team and Eco Group are here to help. PowerStack works with a number of channel, referral, and distribution partners across the key verticals we serve, in each territory. In the USA, we have built a partnership network with security and lighting distributors and integration partners who work on either a national or territory led basis.
