Solar powered security solutions with PowerStack and APX Technology Consulting

Delivering solar powered security solutions - PowerStack and APX Technology Consulting ink deal

Florida, USA: APX Technology Consulting have signed an agreement to distribute PowerStack vertical solar poles for solar powered security solutions across the state of Florida.

APX, who specializes in creating robust and secure IT infrastructure for their clients, will offer the modular, integrated solar poles as part of their solutions moving forward. Adding PowerStack to their suite of solutions provides their end clients with a sustainable, green way to deploy powered infrastructure. Similarly, through its 100% off-grid design, PowerStack enables APX to deliver infrastructure in areas or site locations where accessing traditional grid electricity supply is either not possible or cost prohibitive.

The agreement, signed in August 2024, sets up APX Technology to offer a range of PowerStack vertical solar poles from 1m/3ft bollards up to 8m/25ft poles. The poles can be used to power everything from communications and network equipment to cameras, security lighting and IoT devices.

End-to-end design, with solar power security solutions creating new opportunities

APX will offer solar powered security solutions from PowerStack

APX prides themselves on taking a holistic approach to security system design and integration. Their mission is to ‘develop and grow a robust and secure IT infrastructure, using the latest technologies the market has to offer.’ Their approach is to work with clients in an end-to-end manner, creating tailored solutions to meet their specific needs.

PowerStack is a natural fit for the APX mission. PowerStack poles are designed with optimized materials and approach. From the 4-sided design that maximizes sun capture year round, to shatterproof glassless solar modules, everything in the PowerStack system has been created with longevity and useability in mind.

Perhaps the most important feature of the PowerStack technology for APX however, is the flexibility of the system. Being completely brand and technology agnostic, PowerStack gives the APX team the freedom to choose the devices and brands best suited to each individual client’s needs and requirements.

Speaking about the partnership, APX’s founder, Armando Rojas commented,

“When you think about IT security the average person might think of anti-virus software or remote servers. They’re not wrong, but the holistic approach we take encompasses so much more than that. In today's world, we need to be looking at every data point, every transfer of information from point to point, and safe storage of that information. Our approach often bridges the gap between cyber security and physical security. PowerStack is an innovative way for us to deploy those physical security and monitoring devices, network routers, and communications, even in areas without existing electrical supply. And the option of having an off-grid, green power source that runs a huge range of different devices and brands, that’s a real game-changer. We’re really excited about the possibilities this technology unlocks.”

A partnership approach, delivering sustainable solutions

As the need for intelligent, connected security systems grows, so too does the need for power supply in all the right places. PowerStack is a way to deploy connected devices and solar powered security solutions, en masse, without the hassle of connecting to the grid.

Added to this, it keeps projects on track that may otherwise have been sidelined due to the costs or difficulty of getting power to a particular location. Even in an urban location, where traditional grid supply is in close proximity to site, the effort to apply for access and extend power to the desired area consumes valuable time and money. PowerStack offers a more cost-effective way to get power to a site.

Commenting on the addition of APX to the PowerStack family, Jeremy Sigmon, PowerStack’s Chief Operating Officer for the USA said,

“Partnerships like the one we have with APX are essential as we bring our product into key sunny markets through distribution. Because PowerStack offers a power supply and a place to put your devices, we’re a strategic arrow in the quiver for security integrators providing turn-key solutions. It’s a mutually beneficial partnership because we provide an answer to the challenges of deploying infrastructure in a sustainable way, or of accessing power where it’s not readily available. And for us, partnerships with technology brands and distributors help educate the market and the end user on how they can deploy this technology. We’re keen to work closely with APX to help bring solar powered solutions to their customers.”
