Solar Run Safety Infrastructure

Quick and efficient deployment of safety infrastructure and security for modern residential communities.

Project Type: Solar run safety infrastructure, monitoring devices and network routers

Location: Quinn Residence Site across North and South Carolina, staged project across further sites.

Product: M60 (20ft) PowerStack poles with slide in mounting extrusions for cameras and security equipment, installed with a Concrete-free foundation. 30 poles installed to date, with a further 3 poles earmarked for other sites.

Year: Commenced 2024, initial installation April 2024

Project: Initial stage saw eight M60, or 20ft PowerStack vertical solar poles installed across Quinn Residences housing neighborhoods. A second stage has been completed with a further 22 poles installed.

The Residences are a modern concept in ‘rent-to-live’ accommodation, offering single family homes, exclusively for rent in community style layout with premium amenities. The PowerStack poles were installed to power security cameras and associated communications, and safety lighting.

Challenge: Many of the desired pole install locations had electrical infrastructure nearby, but not exactly where it was needed. There were also aesthetic and sustainability requirements for the project, that led the integrator to look for a ‘cable free’ solution.

PowerStack - Solar run safety infrastructure, 100% off-grid

Solution:  Working through Graham Street Partners, PowerStack poles were chosen as a sustainable and aesthetically pleasing way to deploy cameras and lighting across the project site. With numerous Quinn sites situated across North and South Carolina, Florida, Georgia and Tennessee, this is likely to be a technology that is adopted for multiple Quinn Residence communities.

100% off-grid, the solar run safety infrastructure powered by PowerStack was chosen as it aligned with the core values of the Quinn Residences approach; thoughtful design and sustainable choices. Using a concrete free foundation meant that the poles could be installed without the need for heavy machinery and large labour forces. Plus, with no need to access or extend grid infrastructure, there was no requirement for trenching or cabling.

WATCH HOW EASY IT IS TO INSTALL POWERSTACK

The PowerStack poles represented a cost-effective solution that mimimized impact to the community and environment during installation. All whilst providing reliable, renewable energy for infrastructure that enhanced the safety and security of the community.

Finally, as PowerStack solar poles are brand and technology agnostic, both the integrator and distribution partner, GSP, had choice over what kinds of devices and which brands they wanted to deploy.

In this project, the poles were powering Axis® Communications Outdoor Bullet Cameras with integrated IR for night vision. The solution uses an Axis Edge application for license plate retrieval and video feed is held on a remote server with Milestone VMS. Also included is an Arcadian 5G all bands External Antenna.

"PowerStack was the obvious choice for the Quinn Residences. Not only do they look great, but with minimal install cost and a long design life, they represent a great return on investment. We look forward to installing more across other Quinn sites"

About the Project

At PowerStack, we work closely with the end user, distribution partners and designers, integrators and other technology partners on many of our projects.

For the Quinn Residences Project, we worked with the team at Graham Street Partners, a registered distributor for PowerStack vertical solar poles. The GSP team are well versed in using PowerStack pole for solar run safety infrastructure including cameras and monitoring devices, operational lighting, network routers and device charging.

Graham Street Partners are a representative for PowerStack across North and South Carolina and nearby southeastern states.

Benefits of vertical solar park lighting

PowerStack vertical solar can be used to power a number of different technologies including security cameras, lighting, device charging, and wi-fi networks. Here are a few of the key features that made it a stand-out solution for this project.

Sleek vertical design lends itself to urban, suburban and rural surrounds, no bulky and brittle flat panels.

No heavy machinery required for install or maintenance, easier to deploy with fewer regulatory demands.

Technology and brand agnostic, giving the end user flexibility over device type and style.

Reliable green energy provided by a unique, 4-sided design that maximizes sun capture, year round on any site.
