Colorado, USA, Fisher Lighting Controls of Colorado, have signed a representation agreement for the territory with solar pole provider, PowerStack. Fisher will rep a range of the vertical solar poles as part of their line-card, enabling the agency to deliver sustainable lighting design and solutions that do not rely on grid electricity supply.
Fisher Lighting Controls has over 40 years experience in providing lighting and controls design assistance and regional sales representation for manufacturer brands. They work with best-in-class hardware providers and have provided services for brands such as the Denver Broncos, IBM, Marriott Hotels, and Harley Davidson.
PowerStack’s award-winning vertical solar poles are highly flexible and able to integrate with a number of the brands already represented by Fisher Lighting Controls. The pole’s unique 4-sided vertical design and modular nature means that a solar pole system can be designed and installed pretty much anywhere the sun shines and does not require the costly concrete foundations, time consuming utility applications, or underground wiring that traditional electrical infrastructure demands.

With more and more commercial and public infrastructure projects including an ESG layer or sustainability mandate, PowerStack provides a way to deploy operational and architectural outdoor lighting in a smart and responsible way. Being 100% grid-independent, the technology helps end users achieve their Net Zero goals when compared against traditionally powered lighting systems that rely on non-renewable power.
In addition, PowerStack poles are manufactured from American, recycled aluminum, cutting down on the carbon footprint of shipping in lighting poles from overseas. The solar poles also reduce the need for diesel-powered heavy machinery during installation and completely remove the environmental disruption caused by trenching and extending underground cabling when accessing grid power.
For Fisher Lighting’s customers, PowerStack represents a greener alternative to traditionally powered lighting, and opens up opportunities for lighting installations in areas where a lack of existing electrical supply could render a project infeasible.
PowerStack poles simply need access to sunlight to deliver reliable power, and because they are modular in nature, the system can be designed according to known sunlight hours for any particular location. Every PowerStack system is configured based on the site-specific mid-winter conditions, so that it reliably delivers power for designed payloads such as luminaires, even on the shortest day of the year.
This reliable power generation, independent of the grid, enables more freedom with lighting design. Instead of considering access to underground or overhead power, designers can place architectural lighting where it will be most effective.
What’s more, PowerStack poles can be installed using a special concrete-free foundation which makes for a rapid installation and further limits site disturbance. This uses tree-root like micropiles to secure the poles, and drastically reduces the need for heavy machinery on site.

PowerStack works with a collection of carefully selected manufacturer’s representatives and channel partners across the US. If your project is outside the territories covered by Fisher Lighting and Controls, check out our ‘Where to buy’ page.
